A couple of very exciting changes are in the works for Tech Reports.  These changes are just a small part of the changes coming to all reporting system-wide.

  • Tech Reports has moved as of September 10, 2003,  to the web!  You can now access your Tech Reports from any web browser world-wide.   No more waiting to get Tech Reports installed on your PC.  No more updating your data files.

We are very excited about this move.  We are still fixing a few bugs but work has already begun on a series of improvements that will make your reporting easier and quicker.

  • We are in the process of converting existing Tech Reports to report data as of the close of the prior day's business.  As you know, Tech Reports currently uses up-to-the-minute data from the mainframe.  In terms of computing resources, this is very expensive and also very slow.  If you use Tech Reports very much, you know that reporting is very slow at certain times.  By using last night's data, reporting will be much more efficient and fast.  We also hope to lighten the load on the mainframe so that reports that still use up-to-the-minute data can have the opportunity to run faster also.

We are aware that many reports require up-to-the-minute data.  Those report will not change.  We are in the process of working with users to identify which reports can use last night's data.  Our goal is to improve reporting performance.  We want to help you do your job of serving your customers better.
